I'm drowning in projects again, it seems. I'm going to verbally vomit more information, so I'll start with the most interesting shit first, I guess.

Basically, I started trying to make a new game a week or so ago. My past attempts in video game design would always be plagued with bugs I could never fix and were thusly abandoned, but I have high hopes for this new game due to it being a flash game. It's a Siblings game starring Johny. It'll be a typical side stroller akin to Castlevania in the sense that you primarily fight enemies and maybe a boring puzzle here or there. He uses a guitar axe as a weapon. Original, I know.
Anyway, I'm mentioning this because I'm hosting a gameplay demo of it at games.bobert-rob.com, so if you want to check it out, you may. I'll continually update it to fix stuff, so check it out once in awhile. I'll update it everytime I work on it at the end of the day. It's just a gameplay demo, so no story elements will be spoiled by trying it. Check it out and let me know what you think. I know it isn't much, but hopefully it'll become much better.

Episode 6 of Siblings hasn't been touched in awhile (about two scenes have been started out of 9 or so), I've made no progress with The Heart and the Hand p2 besides putting audio together for it, and I'm practically done with the collab entree I've been working on. Of course, who knows when the collab will be released, but I'll keep you updated as I get information on it.

Oh, and the video games video I mentioned in the past post hasn't really been started yet, but it'll probably be a series of three or so videos, each focusing on different game making programs I've used. I have no idea when it'll be done, but it'll happen I'm sure.

Heh, they have their purpose. Evil bubbles, you gotta watch out for em'. It's going to be a parody of an obscure NES game, so some of the stupidest enemies make an appearance, as well as a few original enemy designs. It's gonna be funny, trust me.

My false teeth, that's where. And I dunno, I get into flash games sometimes, and making a flash game would help give me even more exposure, so why not make one? Especially sidestrollers, I've always been a fan of those.

Jumps are tricky right now. Still gotta tweak it, not working exactly the way I want it. And technically, the last jump can't be made since there's nothing on the other side of it yet. MUA HAHAH.

Nice demo, I love the character designs and weapon. That said, he needs a little more reach with that guitar, I can stand right next to the bubbles of death and the guitar doesn't always connect.

I know you didn't solicit suggestions, but my two cents is include as many upgrades as possible, and give Johnny as many attacks as possible. Overhead smash, perhaps an original guitar solo so awesome it causes women to spontaneously become pregnant, and ninjas to turn into pirates (and then kill themselves in shame).

The attack will have more combos. Also, the red color that appears over the attack is its collision, so if the red is touching the bubbles and not damaging it, then it'd be the collision at fault. I need to work that out, but it's working better now than it was before. But yeah, right now there's a two hit combo, but it'll probably turn into a three hit. Not sure abou tthe other attack you mentioned, heh. Who knows though. I'll add as much as I feasibly can.

You should finish the Heart and the hand pt2 first, I've been waiting for it for a long time.

Well that will definitely be done first, but I always do a few projects at a time. Finishing up one, starting up another. I really shouldn't, but I gotta do what interests me, and this interests me at the moment, so I begin it. It won't be done for a long time, but it'll be a good way to spend time when I'm bored of other things. That's how I roll.

Feedback:
Too much gradients make your game lag.
Shift is not a good key for multiple pressing.
The jumping animation does not look believable. Make his legs bend more when he jumps. And make it so you can attack while in the air.

And also, I like your game, don't think it's bad at all, it just need a lot more work.

Of course it needs more work, it's in super beta stage.. hell, it's alpha, if there is such a thing. Air attacks are needed, definitely, and the jumping needs further tweaking. I'll have to look into the gradient thing, though the framerate is still somewhat low (20 fps, the framerate I usually animate at). And I know the shift key sucks, but I figured it'd be the easiest to remember for now. I'll change it when I figure out what key to change it to. Probably when I change the jump button.

It's on purpose. I do it so I can test his death animation without waiting to kill him. Like I said, it's an early demo, so pretty much all things will be changed in the final.
