You should totally go for it. If you think its a good idea then do it.

To play devil's advocate, will this week be taken out of Siblings making time? Because if that's the case, I'd say put it off. If you were just gonna sit on the couch and posit your musings on life that week, then by all means go for it.
Not sure. Maybe, but I only work on things when I feel like it, so maybe not. Really, the most time consuming part would be editing the audio for the narration I'd most likely do. I may do it yet, though maybe not as soon as I initially thought. Who knows though.

Hai, ja, uh-huh, or in other words, YES. Everyone started at some point, and I've always wanted to see what the good animators/programmers made in the beginning of their careers.
I should show off the very first animation I ever actually did. Sure, Dang ol' Greenhaah was technically my first, but I was doing test animations before that in other programs. Namely game creation programs (the game cutscenes) and GIF animation programs. The first technical animation I ever did was a GIF animation, and it was.. uh... decent. Decent for not knowing what I was doing.
It would be cool to see some footage! But hey you can do whatever you want to do.

Yeah, it is. Haven't touched the character in awhile, so I figured I'd throw that in the video near the end, under current projects. I might split the video up in different sections, each section focusing on different programs.

You should do it, sure it may just be some footage of attempts at video games, but people will still be very interested to see it as fans go crazy for Extras from their favourite artists :P
