Which is weird, because usually I don't think too much of your work. A random song, a gay joke here and there, more random humor... usually no structure. But this has an interesting funny-but-depressing vibe to it. A friend told me about the twist, but hearing about it and seeing it are two different things. I ended up really liking it in the end, so I'm glad I actually watched it. I wish you the best of luck with everything.
Author's Response:
Is that really how you see my stuff generally? That's a shame, I like your stuff.
Point me out to the gay jokes if possible, and I thought lately my stuff have been fairly structured. BUT OKAY, I'll make a note of it.
Glad you liked this one.

First, good animation. Nothing ground breaking, but you know how to do it, so that's good. I have to agree with the others in saying the ending wasn't all great... I mean, it's ironic, sure, but this has been done to death on NG. So many flash will have that sort of lame attempt at a final joke... haha death, it's shocking so it's funny. Of course, this isn't a humorous flash, but you get what I mean. If it wasn't for the ending, it would've been cute and had a more of a point to it.
But that's just the story, and the story is only one element of it, so okay. Otherwise it was a decent animation, it had a cute style, and the music was good too. Work on the writing and you'll have a good animation on your hands. Keep trying, man!
Author's Response:
This is exactly what Hitchcock had to go through when he killed off the young boy and old lady on the bus.
I really don't like happy happy films, so an abrupt albeit slightly disturbing moral is the way to go for me.
Though I do agree, my scriptwriting needs work.
That's because usually I make everything up on the spot, but this is my first time actually trying.
Cheers for the critique.

The animation was pretty good, but what really makes this shine (like a few others have mentioned) is the music. Wish it was on the audio portal so I could listen to it more. But hey, at least it's in this flash, so yay for that. And yay for this entire thing! Good job. I can't think of any critiques, especially since this seems to be more of a test than anything else, so it works for its purpose. I assume. I'm rambling, so I'll stop.

First of all, I'm sorry you had to see it. I know I'm sorry I had to see it, bleh... seriously, no one should ever have to sit through that garbage. Good job on pointing all that out though, some of those points were ones even I hadn't thought of, heh. Fuckin' teeny bopper shit.
I gave you an 7 because while it was good, it was just a bunch of screenshots from the movie. The writing was good, though, so that's definitely worth a 7. Would've been a 10 had it involved real animation. Good job all the same.

You actually got a 'that's terrible' out of me when I saw the ending... jeez. Nicely done, though. Completely messed up story, even moreso than the original. Great stuff. Really can't think of anything to critique here... not that you'd need it, but hey. Whatever, I enjoyed it, end of story. Keep it up, blah blah blah. You know the drill.

Not bad, but it's missing the typical Madness flair. It's usually faster paced and more mind boggling, you know. The chaos that Madness is usually about is abnormally absent here. I really hope you turn the violence and speed up some in the next part, because otherwise I can't see the ending being as awesome as it should be. Also, some of the bits were... kind of cliché. The car chase scene, how Hank recovers, even how he looks when he emerges. Hm.
It was still good and interesting, though. It's funny how near the end all the characters just keep getting bigger, heh. I wonder if that's how the next fight will be, they'll just keep getting bigger and bigger, knocking each other around.

It was simple, both in visual design and in gameplay, but that's what makes this game work well. There's challenge in many of these encounters, and giving the player infinite tries ensures they stick with it until they figure out how to get past these challenges. Very nice, I enjoyed it.

Not bad. Though a little bit of the creepyness is lost on me, but that's basically cuz this entire thing seemed inspired by the documentary "Deep sea", part of the "Blue Planet" series about wild life in the ocean. This focusing on all the fish in the deeper parts of the ocean. You definitely did the trick of making them creepier though, so props for that. Not saying it's a rip off of those creatures, but I'd say a good... four or five of the creatures in this look really similar to those. Just saying.
On another note, it needs to be... I don't know, slower to be scary, I'd say. It moves along way too quickly to be truly unsettling. That's just my two cents, anyway. What's here is good, if only needing to be pushed a little further.
Author's Response:
I actually didn't get to see Blue Planet until a bit more recently, I've loved the deep sea abyss since I read about it as a child :)
I'm glad you felt it went by a little fast, other people complained it was too long and slow; I think it's fairly brief!

"I sure wish flash zealots would shut up"
I agree with everyone who says this series should remain as it is. Part of the joke is the shoddy quality of everything. Not every animation has to have pseudo disney quality, you know. Sometimes less is more, and this is true in this case.
Even still, it's obvious that some improvements have been made to the series, mainly with the special effects. Guess you can't keep everything the same, eh? Even still, it retains the qualities that have made Eskimo Bob the legend he is. Keep fighting the good fight, dear sirs. Even the parody ones.

"Hm, castle crashers for the NG world"
It's nice, I like it. Sure, it's gameplay just Castle Crashers without any way to recover health or other things to make it fair, but it's still cool. I wish there was at least some way to recover health though... like a health bonus for killing a certain amount of enemies or doing a long combo or something. I'll eventually make it past the second damn level, though. Lets hope, eh?
